As a nonprofit, the Historical Society of Mendocino County relies on the generosity of our members and the public to achieve our mission of collecting, preserving, and sharing the diverse history of Mendocino County.  We are a privately owned organization not affiliated with any state, county, or city government. The HSMC exists today thanks to the thousands of people who have tirelessly and generously given their time, money, and histories for over 65 years.
